Us, meaning:

Agnieszka, Grzegorz, Ignaś & Ida Kulka
and
our english springer spaniels – an endless facination. Love, passion, and remedy for the frustration of everyday problems and professional struggles. Both of us graduated law at the University of Wroclaw, Grzegorz is also a historian, and a University Professor. Due to all the years and the whole effort devoted to acquiring education, breeding has never been, and will never be a purely profit-making project for us, nor an idea for treating our own complexes.

Kennel TAMAAM was registered in the FCI on October 15, 2003.

Me, Agnieszka, have spent the last 18 years running in the rings, handling the dogs, grooming, feeding, caring for them, and making plans for the future. I am also the judge’s assistant for Group VIII FCI. In the year 2021, I became the deputy Press Spokesman of the Polish Kennel Club, and proudly accepted the nomination to become the disciplinary spokesman, as well as the press spokesman of the Polish Kennel Club Branch Wrocław, and the deputy head of the Retriever and Spaniel Section there.
Grzegorz has spent the last 18 years carrying the tents & show equipment, driving our springer car safely from place to place, cleaning the puppies’ little “gifts”, soothing emotions, and  stoically tolerating the regular conversions of romantic weekends into insane escapades combined with getting up at indecent hours during the weekends.
Breeding is our lifestyle. Our third child, equally (if not more) demanding as the two remaining, humanoid ones.

After all these years we are a little wiser, calmer, more aware of reality.  We have found our way.
Today we could never imagine life without our dogs. We hope to share the future with representatives of our beloved breed, to have nice – looking and healthy (physically and mentally) puppies, and to see the times when ESS in Poland gather wider sympathy, setting into the tradition of breeding them all over the world.

At the moment the Tamaam springers can be found living in different countries, and fulfiling their duties as family pets, and show dogs; as doggy sportsmen – taking part in agility and obedience competitions, and hunting companions; not to forget their most honorable mission – dogotherapy.
Many of them combine the majority of tasks mentioned above, which gives an excellent proof of the breed’s multi – purpose character.

During sixteen years of breeding under the TAMAAM affix, we have been privileged to have bred over 39 Champions out of relatively few litters (19 within the years 2003 – 2019). Our springers have obtained their Champion titles in Austria, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Croatia, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden and Hungary. We have also bred 14 International Show Champions (C.I.E).
However, for one of the most precious moments in time we hold the granting in 2014 the title of GB Show Champion to a dog born in our kennel in 2012. GB Sh.Ch. FOREST FRUIT FROM Tamaam to Beresford is the first (and in 2022 – so far THE ONLY) English Springer Spaniel in the breed history in Poland to be made up in England (as well as one of a few overseas imports with the GB Show Champion title in general).

Our kennel is small, without ‘dog homes’ and cages. Dogs are true members of our family, living at home and spending each day with us. They are our friends and beloved companions of our children – Ignaś & Ida, who are growing up among smiling freckled faces and always wagging tails, being taught respect and clever love towards their “smaller brothers”. It makes their childhood very special, whereas we remain with invariable admiration and gratefulness to these smart long – eared teachers. The puppies in our kennel are born relatively seldom and only out of the thoroughly selected combinations. They all have the official papers of the Polish Kynological Association and FCI…

From time to time, people tell us, “lighten up, it’s just a dog”, or, “that’s a lot of money for just a dog”.
They don’t understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for “just a dog”.
Some of our proudest moments have come about with “just a dog”.
Many hours have passed and our only company was “just a dog”, but we did not once feel slighted.
Some of our saddest moments have been brought about by “just a dog” and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of “just a dog” gave us comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If somebody thinks it’s “just a dog”, then they will probably understand phases like “just a friend”, “just a sunrise”, or “just a promise”.
“Just a dog” brings into our life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
“Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that makes us better persons.
Because of “just a dog” we will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for us and folks like us, it’s not “just a dog” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
“Just a dog” brings out what’s good in us and diverts our thoughts away from ourselves and the worries of the day.
We hope that someday they can understand that it’s not “just a dog” but the thing that gives us humanity and keeps us from being “just a human.”
So next time you hear the phrase “just a dog”, just smile, because they “just don’t understand”.

Since 2015, we have been also sharing our life with the griffons – big spirits in tiny bodies.
A breed that charmed us almost as much as the springers do,and that crept into our freckled hearts so deep that (though with a bit of timidity) we decided to start a new chapter of the Tamaam history.
